About Ozark Lakes Summer Project

On Project...

In mid-May students embark on a summer-long adventure of community outreach, workplace ministry, and spiritual growth. Though they were all from different backgrounds, the students begin with a common goal--to serve God. They come here with faith that God has called them to Branson to follow His challenge for Christians to "go and make disciples" (Matthew 28:19-20).

The Ozark Lakes Summer Project acts as a greenhouse of spiritual growth. Here, students are immersed in widespread evangelism, biblical studies, and Christian fellowship. Summer Project exists so that students would experience spiritual growth so that they would be equipped and willing to return to their college campuses ready to make an impact for Christ and live their entire lives in His service.

Branson...

Nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, Branson, MO, is home to the Ozark Lakes Summer Project. With its rolling hills, blue skies, crystal-clear lakes, cool and sunny weather, and country flavor, Branson is unique and lovely. Though its actual population is only 3,706, the town comes alive in the summer when thousands flock to see its musical shows, antique shops, amusement parks, and all types of outdoor recreation, from fishing to camping to water-skiing. Branson has a bit of everything. You will have the chance to take advantage of all Branson has to offer as a student here.

Because Branson is a historically conservative southern town, the residents and the visitors are, for the most part, educated in Biblical teachings. Yet, too many of them have not yet accepted God's gracious gift of eternal life. And that's where the students come in....

The Honeysuckle Inn...

The Honeysuckle Inn, a resort hotel in northwest Branson, is the housing for the Ozark Lakes Summer Project. The Honeysuckle Inn is located on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway between the Ray Stevens Theater and the IMAX Complex with easy access to Branson's best attractions on the famous Strip and Branson's numerous outdoor recreations. The hotel alone makes the Ozark Lakes Summer Project unique.

Because of its proximity to the Historic Branson Strip, the Honeysuckle Inn is a focal point from which to begin community outreach. Throughout the summer, tourists flock to the shops and shows on Highway 76, enjoy cruises on the Showboat Branson Belle river boat, go fishing at the docks of Lake Taneycomo, and go water skiing on Table Rock Lake.

As you can see, the Honeysuckle Inn is one of the many things that makes the Ozark Lakes Summer Project a summer to remember. For the summer at least, you can call it home.

Church on Project...

During their time in Branson, students are assigned to particular community churches according to their growth team--such as College of the Ozarks Chapel (pictured on the left). The full list includes: First Branson Baptist Church, Fellowship Bible Church, Harvest Evangelical Church, Branson Bible Church, Skyline Baptist Church, Holister Presbyterian Church, and College of the Ozarks Chapel.

As well as following God's command to keep the Sabbath holy, students attend these carefully selected local churches to be servants to them and to develop a strong base of community support to ensure ongoing ministry.
